About Copperleaf StudioCopperleaf Studio is a wife-and-husband pottery team, both of whom are native Ozarkians. Terri, the resident potter, does most of the throwing and artistic stuff. Gordon, being the official potter's assistant, does much of the heavy lifting, kiln operations, and chauffeuring. He is self-employed as a ceramic tile setter, but still has time to help Terri around the studio.
In 2006, Terri became a juried artist member of the Best of Missouri Hands. She and Gordon love to attend many juried art fairs and events throughout the region, at one winning the award Best of Show. Her work has appeared in pottery publications, also. At Copperleaf, it's all about pottery fun and function. Whether it be mugs, cookie plates, or ogee donut bottles, we strive for uniqueness and beauty. We are always experimenting to find different styles, textures, and color combinations because we want our pots to be anything but boring! During the ice storm of 2007, we were without electricity for half a month which allowed some artistic energy to flow into our newly created, carved slab plates. Most of our items are oxidation fired functional; however, we occasionally will have a piece or two of raku or pit-fired pottery, just to keep things interesting.
